Lenovo Group Ltd., (NASDAQ: LNVGY)- The company’s phablet smartphone, P90, can now be purchased for US$172.
Lenovo has been dominating tech news lately, with the release of a slew of devices in India; three tablets and three smartphones.

Furthermore, one of Lenovo’s best-selling phablets, the P90, will be turning a year old in three months, hence the handset can be found for some very low prices out there.
As technology blog GeekSnack has correctly pointed out, the device is available unlocked for only $172 at the Chinese online retailer, GearBest. The same website adds that the P90’s predecessor, the Lenovo P70, retails for more than $200 on the US-based Amazon.
The handset does offer a rather interesting spec sheet as well, sporting a full HD (1920×1080) IPS LCD 5.5-inch display, with a 401 ppi pixel density.

Underneath the hood, the P90 houses Intel’s Z3560 64bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.83GHz, coupled with 2GB of RAM, PowerVR G6430 GPU and 32 gigs of non-expandable internal storage.
Camera wise, the handset boasts a 13MP (4160 x 3120 pixels) primary camera on the back, featuring autofocus, optical image stabilization and dual-LED (dual tone) flash. The secondary camera on the front is a 5-megapixel shooter, capable of full HD video recording.
Connectivity wise, the P90 packs LTE antennas, 3G, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.1 and microUSB v2.o.
To accommodate the 5.5-inch full HD display, Lenovo has installed a whopping 4,000 mAh battery, which is fair enough for the particular spec sheet.
The handset comes with Google’s Android 4.4 KitKat operating system straight out of the box. Lenovo has confirmed that the P90 is eligible for the Android 5.0 Lollipop update, though no official statement has been issued regarding Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
With the next iteration of the P phablet lineup coming up soon -sometime during January-, chances of the P90 receiving the Marshmallow update seem unlikely.
