At its IO 2017 conference, Google revealed most of the main aspects and characteristics of the Android 8.0 Oreo. On the other hand, it did not disclose one nifty feature, the Rescue Party. The information of the “Rescue Party” feature is given by Google on one of its pages for Android Source.

It has been clarified that the feature of Rescue Party in Android 8.0 Oreo will routinely detect if the handset is encountering some problem and is operating on bootloop and therefore will recuperate the handset. “Android 8.0 comprises a feature that drives out a “rescue party” when it recognizes core system elements jammed in crash loops. Rescue Party then soars to recover the device via a sequence of actions,” claims the page.

The search major even claimed that as a last resort, Rescue Party restarts the device in the recovery mode and alerts the consumer to conduct a factory reset.

While this is a useful yet clever feature, unluckily, most of the consumers will have to wait till next year to receive Android O. Only select companies have declared their smartphones that will be getting Android O. Some of those companies are Sony, OnePlus, Samsung, Nokia, Nexus/Pixel, and Asus.

For those who are not aware, Google revealed the authorized name of the Android 8.0 Oreo during the solar eclipse. Since last couple of months there were rumors recommending that the firm will name Android ‘O’ as Oreo, given the popularity of dessert all over the world. As the custom goes, Google has been dubbing its Android variants after a dessert such as Froyo, Eclairs, HoneyComb, Gingerbread, Jelly Bean, Ice Cream Sandwich, Lollipop, KitKat, Nougat, and Marshmallow.

Android 8.0 Oreo arrives with tons of new features such as Notification Badges, Native picture-in-picture mode, System optimizations, Smart Text Selection, Autofill with Google Chrome, and Improved battery life.

Android 8.0 Oreo will also comprise refurbished Emojis. The firm in May verified that it will be launching out with Android O the newly-developed stock emojis. The new emoji cluster has been in the works for almost 1.5 Years and is said to be more user-friendly.
