According to a report, Google will presumably release the next Android version this month itself. The Android 7.0 Nougat may be unveiled two months before schedule. We generally get to see a new Android version in the month of October every year.

In the year 2014, Google started the Android Developer Preview initiative with the Android 5.0 Lollipop. At that time, just a single preview build of the Android L was published. With the next Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the number of preview builds increased to three. Presently, Google has just finished launching the fifth and final developer preview of the upcoming Android 7.0 Nougat.

According to trusted leaker Evan Blass, stable build of the Android Nougat will be outed in the present month. He also mentioned that the Nexus 5 would not receive the forthcoming Android update. Evan, popularly known by his Twitter handle @evleaks has a track record of providing genuine information. So, there is a really good chance for that the Android 7.0 Nougat will be launched soon.

Like every new Android version, the Nougat will also come with a host of improvements and optimizations. Split screen will be available by default from the upcoming Android version. This feature will facilitate use and viewing of multiple applications at the same time on the display.

Multi window option is also presumed to part of the upcoming public build. This feature is in an experimental stage and hidden from normal users in the preview build. The multi-window will make it possible for apps to be opened in overlapping windows similar to PCs. This will give an entirely new horizon to multitasking on an Android device.

Android 7.0 will also bring a revamped notification shade. Now, there will be a shorter row of different settings icons. A sheet-like design language will replace the card like notifications of current Android versions. You will also be able to reply to a notification in line with the new version of Android.

The ‘Doze’ mode remains fully functional in the Android 7.0 Nougat with all the features present in the present Android 6.0 Marshmallow. A brand new ‘Data Saver’ facility will keep track of background data usage and even regulate internet access to each application. It will also possess the ability to restrict data access to any application.

The ‘Verified Boot’ policy first present on Android KitKat has now been made mandatory for all devices that will run Android Nougat out of the box. Android will switch to limited use mode or stop the booting process if any corrupted system files are detected.

As usual, the latest Android 7.0 Nougat will be at first available for Google’s Nexus line-up. The Nexus 6P, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Nexus Player, Nexus 5X and Pixel C will be the among the firsts to taste the Nougat.
