On Wednesday, Micromax Informatics declared a new Vdeo series of handsets that are pre-packaged with Google Duo, the famous video calling app. Vdeo 1 and Vdeo 2 come with a price tag of Rs 4,440 and Rs 4,990, respectively, enhanced with 4G/VoLTE connectivity. They run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow and are able to upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. “At Micromax we flourish on our thoughtful sense of the Indian users, constantly obtaining impends and giving pioneering products to the market,” said Chief Marketing Officer, Shubhajit Sen, in a statement.
On one hand, Vdeo 1 comes with a 4-inch WVGA display. On the other hand, Vdeo 2 has 4.5-inch FWVGA display. Both the handsets are fueled by processor with a power of 1.3GHz quad-core coupled with 8GB of internal storage and 1GB of RAM. Pre-packaged with Reliance Jio SIM, the smartphones have a 5MP rear camera along with 2MP front camera. The Vdeo 2 has a battery of 1,800mAh while Vdeo 1 has a battery of 1,600mAh.
“This year has witnessed a remarkable decrease in the long period trend of Feature Handsets with users moving to Smartphones. Two obstructions we identified are lack of a differentiated mass-use case and superficial high cost of data. Of course, the Vdeo series is fully packed with the best features for newbie smartphone which include Android Marshmallow, 4G VoLTE, great battery performance, Quad-core processors, and packed in a stylish and premium metal body. We are very confident that we have handled to deliver these loads of features in phones priced below 5K,” added Mr. Sen.
Micromax has always put its efforts trying to give the best in affordable prices and aiming on customer satisfaction. Let us wait and watch if this new series will prove to be a big success or a debacle for Micromax.
