Apple Inc. iPhone 8 SPECS RUMOR says it will feature Samsung OLED display

A new report published by The Korean Times has surfaced online suggesting that Apple and Samsung has gotten in talks about future cooperation for upcoming iPhone model display.

It hasn’t been three months since the latest additions to the iPhone line-up were unveiled, the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, and the internet is being flooded with leaks concerning the next generation handsets on a daily basis.

As aforementioned, The Korean Times says that sources close to the two tech giants suggest that Samsung has renewed talks with Cupertino about supplying the display for an upcoming iPhone.

It has long been rumored for Apple supplanting the LCD panels for the more sophisticated OLED, the ones that Samsung, in particular, manufacturers and has been incorporating in its respective Galaxy S line-up.

Unfortunately, though, based on various reports, the display tech that the 2016 iPhone 7 will be sporting has been already sealed, hence the Apple smartphone series will be stuck with the sort of obsolete – for today’s standards – LCD panels for two more consecutive seasons.

Our assumption that the iPhone 7S will come with an LCD screen lies on the fact that the iPhone 8 will belong to the ‘groundbreaking’ – that’s how Apple labeled the iPhone 4 in 2010 – point of the cycle, where it is expected to deliver a plethora of significant upgrades, and, as Forbes has correctly pointed out, a brand new OLED panel could be marketed under ‘the best screen on any iPhone yet’ campaign.

Nevertheless, one of the most severe flaws and deal breakers with the iPhone over the years is its poor battery performance, and an OLED display would definitely contribute to attaining a longer battery life, as they consume substantially less energy than LCD – it would be useful if Cupertino would increase the mAh as well.

Moreover, OLED panels offer wider viewing angles, brighter display, and more vibrant colors.

On a relevant note, the iPhone 8 will be the twelveth iteration of the line-up and will be ostensibly unveiled during the third quarter of 2018.

    It’s a rumour.

And until Samsung can fix the rapid decay and short life of the blue AMOLED LEDs, it’s a silly rumour.

Probably started to sucker people into believing that if Apple are going to use AMOLEDs in phones, then the must be better.

AMOLED phone screens test well on new phones straight out of the box.

But the blue diodes rapidly degrade bringing a dingy yellow cast and ruining the devices for accurate photographic colour rendering. The fail early.

If Apple wanted current AMOLED displays in their phones, they would be using them.
