Apple Watch 2 is expected to release within the next few days. However, images of the 334mAh lithium-ion battery dubbed to be that of the Apple Watch 2 has been leaked on Chinese microblogging service Weibo. There were rumors that the upcoming second edition of Apple Watch 2 will feature an enhanced battery. Hence, we can assume that the new wearable from Apple will be integrated with a 334mAh battery to provide an improved battery life. Upon inspection of the leaked image, the battery is allegedly that of the 42mm model. Currently, the 42mm Apple Watch has a 246mAh battery. Hence, the presence of a 334mAh battery in the next generation 42mm variant will provide 35.7 percent enhanced performance. The image, however, doesn’t provide any vital hints about potential battery life improvements coming to the smaller 38mm model, which is equipped with a 205mAh battery.
Apple Watch 2 Release Date expected in September
Even though the original source of the leaked images is not available, KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo recently disclosed that an Apple Watch 2 will feature an enhanced capacity battery. According to sources, Apple Watch 2 will be launched along with iPhone 7 on September 7.
The currently available Apple Watch with 246mAh battery has the capability to deliver up to 18 hours of mixed usage. Moreover, the device offers up to 72 hours in Power Reserve mode on a single charge. With an upgrade of 334Mah, these figures are liable for a change.
Apple Watch 2 Specifications: GPS, OLED Display
On the specifications front, the much-rumored Apple Watch 2 will feature an improved TSMC-built processor, GPS, barometer, a possible OLED display including water-resistant design. From the beginning, we have been hearing about thinner Apple Watch 2. This means that the device will offer an OLED display. The chances of the new Apple Watch to ship with a SIM slot are bleak. According to reports, Apple will release both 38mm and 42mm display sizes.

Scheduled to be released along with the iPhone 7, the Apple Watch 2 is expected to ship with a waterproof body including swim proof. You can also expect advanced features like GPS and enhanced performance. Moreover, the upcoming wearable will be loaded with the recently announced watchOS 3.
