REDMOND, WA- Microsoft Corporations (NASDAQ: MSFT) The software giant has hinted the possibility of its Halo 5: Guardians Xbox video game to launch on the PC as well.
It’s been quite some time since a Halo title found its way to the PC console for fan gamers of the specific series. In fact, the last one was the Halo 2. Follow-ups such as the Halo: The Master Chief Collection was released exclusively for the Xbox One.
However, now it seems that we just might witness the new Halo 5: Guardians being also available for computer platforms. When asked general information on the new title and what its relation will be with the PC, Frank O’Conor, Halo franchise director, stated:
“You know, Microsoft has made a huge commitment to try and sort of… I think normalize the Windows experience across multiple platforms. You see the elements of Windows 10 are going to appear in the Xbox and Cortana and stuff like that. There is plenty of chance that Halo 5 could appear on the PC. Nothing to announce at this point, but it’s absolutely not out of the bounds of reason. We developed the game on an Intel platform. It wouldn’t be the hardest thing in the world to move it to PC and take advantage of PC stuff. But nothing I announce today on this chat.”
Hence, not only did Mr. Frank not deny anything, but he also made clear that Windows 10 is potentially a wide ecosystem that will include all of Microsoft’s platforms.
So in that frame, gamers will soon look forward to buying a game title which they will be able to play both on their Windows computer and their Xbox One, and Halo 5: Guardians may be part of all that. And everything will become clearer after the company releases its new dashboard update, which is due to roll out next month.
