Samsung Galaxy S7 edge rated as ‘Best Smartphone 2016’ at MWC 2017

The Mobile World Congress 2017 held in Barcelona was fantastic. Many of the companies gave their best shot. The world also witnessed the comeback of Nokia. Many other players such as Alcatel, Sony, and Moto along with Nokia launched their smartphones. BlackBerry was also one of them. Lenovo and Samsung, on the other hand, showcased their skills by introducing tablets and not smartphones.

While the launches were going on and as the event was approaching to end, there was a surprise waiting for Samsung. GSMA, a group that represents the interests of all GSM telecoms globally, announced the award for best smartphone of 2016. This award was grabbed by none other than Samsung for its Galaxy S7 edge. Let us have a look at the specs of this smartphone.

 

The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge’s screen has a pixel ratio of 1140 x 2560and sports a 5.5-inch screen with Full HD Super AMOLED display. It is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. The device is fueled by a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 Exynos 8890 Octa processor along with 4GB of RAM. The Samsung Galaxy S7 edge comes with 32GB/ 64GB/ 128GB of internal memory. Internal memory for the smartphone can be expanded to 256GB via MicroSD card.

Camera-wise, the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge have a 12MP rear camera with f/1.7 aperture, LED flash, and phase detection autofocus. The phone has 5MP of the front camera with f/1.7 aperture. The phone is fueled by a 3,600mAh battery that can give 27 hours of talk time backup and 74 hours of music play time.

On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S7 is similar to that of Samsung Galaxy S7 edge with minor changes. The phone does not have an edge screen. The screen is sized at 5.1-inch.

Well, GSMA took the right decision by giving the award to Galaxy S7 edge.
