Tesla Model X 60D is a cheaper version of Model X luxury SUV

tesla model x 60 D

Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) has launched a new variant of its Model X luxury all-electric SUV named Model X 60D starting at $74000. As per initial reports, we inferred that the car derived its name from the integrated 60-kWh battery pack and offers a 200-mile driving range. However, Tesla sources confirmed to us that although the model X 60D will be manufactured with a 75-kWh battery pack, customers will be able to unlock additional energy through an over-the-air software update for $9,500.

The price of the new X 60D is $9000 lower than the enhanced 75D ($83,000) model, though it gains only 37 miles of range. With a discount of 10%, you will be able to become the owner of a brand new electric car with little sacrifice in features of performance. Moreover, the Model X 90D priced at $95000 provides only 257 miles, which is only 57 miles higher than the new 60D.

Tesla X 60D Specs and Price

Even though the cost of Tesla X 60D is $64000, the effective price would be $66500 after a $7500 federal tax credit. According to official sources, the cost per month for the vehicle comes around $768 per month after estimated savings. This is because the fuel cost will be comparatively lower for 60D when compared to gasoline.

For normal users, the difference in miles in 60D will not make a huge difference. That being said, the performance of 60D is same as that of the 75D since both vehicles can climb from zero to 60 miles an hour in six seconds at a top speed of 130 miles an hour.

The company sources revealed that they are not manufacturing any 60-kWh battery packs, which is not only an efficient decision for Tesla but also offers flexibility and pass cost savings to our valuable customers.
Like in the past, Tesla doesn’t manufacture cars until orders are placed by customers. If you place an order now, you can expect delivery by September.

Earlier, Tesla had rolled out a cheaper 60-kWh Model S sedan with a two wheel drive variant starting at $66000 with the capability to drive up to 210 miles on a single charge. However, with a waiting list of over 375,000 people, the company is gearing up to deliver the cars by early 2018.

Despite launching new electric cars by Tesla, the safety measures adopted by the cars are still a billion dollar question among people. This is because of a recent death of a man in Florida during testing. Moreover, the company had to deal with two crashes in which drivers have reportedly used the system.
