NEW TAIPEI CITY, TAIWAN- HTC Corporation (NASDAQ: HTCXF) HTC has been rising up and fast lately, picking on colossal rivals such as Apple and Samsung.
Following the same tactics for the last couple of years, the company now presented its next major achievement that could also prove to be its ticket to the top.
All the fuss is about the new MediaTek MT6797 Chipset, featuring a Deca-Core CPU that will be put to the upcoming HTC One A9.
According to technology blog GizmoChina, the smartphone is expected to be presented at Japan’s tech event titled “The World Best Meets The Best”.
There, we shall not only see the company’s probable new flagship, but also what it is made of, and more specifically, the new deca-core Helio X20 MT6797 processor, which complements the new Mali-T880MP6 series graphics chip. The event will take place on September 22, so that’s when we expect to see the HTC One A9 for the first time.
The secret that holds it all together and keeps it powerful is a Tri-Cluster design with dual 2.5GHz Cortex-A72 cores for the heavy tasks, four 2GHz Cortex-A53 cores, and four 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 cores for the light ones.
The company claims that its new MT6797 consumes 30% less energy than most high end chipsets currently available on the market, which makes it a lot more power efficient.
And to make things more interesting, the HTC One A9 has made it through the Geekbench benchmark test and scored 1835 in the single core test, while it made a big surprise on multitasking, scoring an unbelievable 5884.
For the record, that’s even more than the Samsung Galaxy S6 Exynos 7420, which scored 5375.
Moving on to the rest of the features, the new One A9 will be equipped with 4GB of RAM and rumour has it that it will have a Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. The handset will come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box as well.
